It's #RefugeeWeek2017! What is #RefugeeWeek you ask? Well, It's a UK-wide programme of arts, cultural, and educational events and activities that celebrates the contribution of refugees to the UK and promotes better understanding of why people seek sanctuary. Now we just so happen to think that every week (in fact, every DAY) should be in celebration of those strong, resilient, hopeful human beings we too often reduce to the word 'refugee.' Truly, we should do something every single day to help our fellow human beings, but for this week in particular, we are joining the hashtag and doing one action per day to support the fabulous effort of #RefugeeWeek2017

Today, we headed over to the Red Cross' Destitution Prevention Centre in Dalston to deliver clothing donations we have been collecting from YOU, our fabulous volunteers and supporters, since winter. And boy were they glad to see us! We learned a bit more about what they do at the centre, and so we wanted to pass along this information so that you can reach out to your local #BritishRedCross branch and get volunteering!

92 Dalston Lane, London, E8 1NG
02072540928

What do they need?
  • Volunteers to teach english, IT, arts therapies, cook, lift heavy things, sort donations, generally be helpful.
  • Donations of shoes (!!!!!!), cloth bags/luggage/tough tote bags, nicer clothes (suitable for Home Office interviews and job searches), coats in anticipation of winter, teen clothing, belts, etc.
What do you need to do to volunteer on site?
  • Undergo a one-week training course at your local Red Cross centre. You'll get experience in child safeguarding, first aid, empathy training, and more.
When can you drop off donations?
  • They're open Mon, Tues, Wed, and Friday 10-1 and 2-4pm to receive donations. Feel free to drop in to the address listed above with a smile, and intend on leaving the bags you brought the goods in, as they will be reused gratefully.

Well the major point is to improve education, and definitely it is for whole nation. Politician will not take interest due to their mind problem. They think if guys will knowledgeable then their positions will in danger.
