Tanya Marie Davies studied piano at Chetham’s School of Music, before obtaining her BA(Hons) in Music at Cardiff University, and a DipABRSM in music performance. Aged 21, she moved to Beijing, China, where she worked as a music teacher at International Schools and at charity-run schools for China’s displaced migrant students. Between 2007 and 2008, she was the co-director of the International Children’s Choir of the 2008 Beijing Olympics, travelling the world with the choir and filming performances for the CCTV Chinese New Year Gala and MTV China. She later became Artistic Director for the Beijing Playhouse Children’s Academy of Performing Arts, directing musical theatre and dramas with children aged 6 – 16, as well as directing the “Golden Fields Choir for Autistic Children”. Tanya moved to Los Angeles, USA, in 2012, where she worked as a songwriter and composer, as well as being a Programme Director for extra-curricular arts education programmes for disenfranchised children and teens of Mexican and Central American descent. She has lived in London for 3 years, where she teaches Primary school music whilst studying for a Master’s Degree in Music Psychology in Education.
